In spite of how many reviews, writing, some self-imposed deadlines I have to finish by the end of this month, recently I have been able to catch the first episodes of about four shows.I don’t think I will catch the other Winter anime titles….
Durarara! – Obviously my favorite one at the moment. When I saw the approximations of Ikebukuro, I was really excited of course. I didn’t expect to even think about this series. But it seems like there is a colorful amount of characters with possibilities.
Dance in the Vampire Bund - This was my highly anticipated series, and watching the first episode it was okay with some glaring annoyances. The fanservice – I am praying that this won’t turn out like Tsukuyomi: Moon Phrase. Because that would soooo suck. I recently saw on Tiamat’s manga review blog, his impressions of the manga series so far, then I saw the series at B&N, and if it is like the manga, then I might drop this sooner or later.
Ookamikakushi - Not really caring much about that clingy female character. This is a strange premises, but same thing with Dance, I am trying to reserve my judgement. Probably this series is going to be plague with bad fanservice. But interested in the hooded shinigami character.
Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu – Okay, feeling like I should face fault. Hopping for something maybe like S.A. meets Ouran, but getting something odder. Probably have to watch some more of this to pass judgment.
So to sum up…. Durarara is an obvious choice of mine to go after.

Trust me, don’t touch the anime with a 10foot barge pole. They’ve destroyed what is an excellent manga and made it into a pile of crud anime. They couldn’t have done a worse job if they tried.
I’ll never understand why companies have to make such bad bastardisations of great manga
So far waiting to see the third episode.. Well sure they would do that to varieties of works. I am thinking that there is an audience for everyone no matter what. So far what makes it watchable is the aerial scenes.
I love Baka to Test.
I was going to watch Ookamikakushi, until I saw the amount of fanservice. I’ll probably still watch it anyway.
I’m still trying to finish Bakemonogatari, which has the pace of a snail, and the interest level of…..well……a snail (not interesting). I love Shinbo and Shaft, but really? What is this?
I though Moon Phase was pretty good actually, so I wouldn’t mind if it turned out that way, altough having more of the same would be annoying (and one of the main reasons I liked moon phase was because of the random pots falling on peoples head at the strangest times…..actually, I liked the general story too)
I have still yet to see any more of Baka to Test.. and the same with Ookamikakushi. Hmm Bakemonogatari for you is like Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei or Phantom or Mushishi is for me… Moon Phase I am sorry to say, that I was quite disappointed by. I wanted more of the seriousness rather than the comedy moe cuteness…
The moe kind of pissed me off, but I felt like it wasn’t blatant moe, so it was fine….or well…..actually it was pretty blatant, I should say that it wasn’t moe enough to annoy me. Like….K-On is moe bullshit, but at least Moon Phase had a running plot and wasn’t shitty bullshit of shit like K-On.
Ookamikakushi doesn’t have that much amount of fanservice unlike SOME animes out there. I dropped it after watching episode 2 since it’s getting pretty slow and boring. And I heard episode 3 was very scary.. yaoi kind of scary so yeah..
Durarara!! is my favorite series this season as well. Excellent choice!
I found Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu to be pretty funny. Feels somewhat parody-like, and hopefully will keep up the amusement factor for me as the series progresses.
hi mate, happy holiday and i enjoy my time here.
actually Im downloading Durarara! since there are good reviews about it.
Love this post! Thanks for this. I’ll be sure to come back again. P.S: I’ve bookmark your site as well.
