Summer is just around the corner (Actually in here, its already summer). That means new anime. There are some anime that interests me in the chart. But mostly of them are sequels of the anime I havent watched yet. This season I guess, will be the best season this year. There are a lot of kickass and action-filled anime. As usual, still there are lots of school-themed, shoujo-esque anime. Ugh.
Miz
Okay it seems like two weeks ago it was the mid-season Spring anime, and now this is the Summer anime time again. Where there is potential anime, that didn’t make the cut in the Fall/Spring seasons. Or this is the time for the sequels.. it works or it doesn’t work. Not everything can be like
Earth Girl Arjuna, Full Metal Panic, Onegai Sensei or Nagasarete Airantou. Well those might have not been as impressionable, but those were Summer anime that stood out for me, and a lot too.

Spice and Wolf II
Kairu: I watched the first episode of the first season because Im the only one who didnt watched this yet. The first 10 minutes bored me and didnt interest me at all. Probably the season 2 will be much boring I guess. Watch it?: Definitely not.
Animemiz: I can’t help but want to maybe watch it, because there is another similar anime out there on a kitsune and a human. Still that is another anime and a sequel though. Though I recall getting through first episode of the first season and thinking, man this anime sucks! Watch it? Most likely no.
Krigo: I enjoyed the first season of Spice and Wolf II a lot so I will be watching the second season. I’m hoping though this will be the last season though; I can’t really see how this will be too different from the first season. Watch it? Yup
Cobra: Rokunin no Yushi
Kairu: How about no? Watch it: Probably not.
Animemiz: What’s the purpose of this anime again? At first read, I was thinking Harlock, but then to learn that he changed his face and lives like a normal person.. Pass.. even though this is a Madhouse Production. Watch it? Pass
Krigo: The description reminds me of #9 from Eden of the East- but that’s the only thing that stuck out, I don’t think I’ll be watching this. Watch it? Nope
Aoi Hana
Kairu: Just in the title, I find it very booooring. This is like a friendship anime thing. Ugh, boring. And I bet this is gonna be dramatic as ever. Watch it? Ill watch it when Im bored.
Animemiz: I want to watch this anime! Okay, if Kairu mentions that he is not going to watch it. But to me, there’s never that much angsty yuri anime. Well, not any that I recall, so I am waiting for this one with anticipation! Watch it? Yes!
Krigo: Sounds pretty boring. I won’t be watching this. Watch it? Nope
Element Hunters
Kairu: This is like a chemistry anime!? Oxygen, carbon, gold, molybdenite, and cobalt? Oh wow! I love Chemistry! Im still not sure if Im gonna watch this but its really interesting and I think its a non-cliche anime. It features some elements stuff, what could go wrong!? And oh, the title sucks by the way. Watch it? Yes
Animemiz: Don’t really like Chemistry that much when I took it in school. Now this? Nah.. Watch it? Pass
Krigo: The idea behind the show sounds interesting- I’m not too sure about this one. Watch it? Maybe
Zan Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei
Kairu: I havent watch the first season (and I really want to watch it but not via streaming) but I cant help but to rant on this what!? third season!? Mostly anime that reaches for third season sucks [e.g. Zero no Tsukaima (IMO, dont rage)] But I dont know, this is a good anime and is better of with 1 season alone. But whatever, I should watch the anime first before ranting right? right? Watch it? Definitely!
Animemiz: I never saw the first season, what makes anything think that I would want to check out the sequel? Nah. Watch it? Nope

Tokyo Magnitude 8.0
Kairu: A must-watch anime for me! The title is awesome and the sypnosis is interesting. I will definitely watch this anime. Well I hope the anime is better than I expected. And if this is gonna be like 100 episodes, then I wouldnt watch this. Watch it? Definitely!
Animemiz: I thought at first that I would like to this anime, but as I saw the trailer, I became slightly annoyed. What the hell is with the serious plot, and the cute girl? They’re turning this into similar Gai Rei Zero again, mark my words.. Watch it? A flat out No…
Krigo: Very interesting plot I’ll- differen’t than most cookie cutters. I’ll be watching this for sure. Watch it? Yup
Canaan
Kairu: Another must-watch anime. This anime is produced by Type-Moon according to MAL which is good since I am a fan of Type Moon. The sypnosis doesnt really interest me at all. Seriously? Cat Mascot? Wut? Watch it? Uhh.. Yes.
Animemiz: I would like to say that I would like this see this title. The blurb seems interesting. Even though everyone looks so pretty in the story. Well it would probably remind me more of going to go finish playing Chain… >_< Watch it? Yes!
Krigo: Interesting? Yes, but I’m not so sure about this one, I’ll have to watch the first (few) episode(s). Watch it? Maybe
Umineko no Naku Koro ni
Kairu: This is not a sequel of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni right? Cause I havent watched that series yet. I really like murder series so I will definitely watch this. Watch it? Definitely!
Animemiz: Trying to put my head around the blurb, and even though the teaser image looks really nice, I am afraid I would have to pass.. >_< Watch it? No.
Krigo: This sounds pretty cool, I’m into murder mysteries so I’ll keep an eye out for this one. // Watch it? Maybe
Taishou Yakyuu Musume
Kairu: J.C Staff? Uhmm.. Sure, Ill try to watch this. Baseball? FFFFFFFFF No. Watch it? Meh
Animemiz: 1925, baseball and females? A League of Their Own in anime form? Don’t make me try to smack my head in disbelief. I think that the plot is really inapprorpiate for the times, and where does sailor fuku uniforms in? I am not that into sports anime though. Watch it? Nope
Krigo: It’s always these weird ones that turn out to be entertaining- I can’t say for sure that I’ll be following it but I’ll watch the first few episodes at the least. Watch it? Maybe
Winter Sonata
Kairu: I used to love the Korean drama of this one. But adapted in an anime? I dont.. know. Watch it? Hell no.
Animemiz: No…. didn’t care for the drama.. and to know that it is finally coming out, when it was in the making for the last several years.. nah. From ANN, I see that this anime is suppose to have an oringial Korean cast as well as the original male lead reprising his role, so does that mean this is a Korean anime? I would prefer to see the prequel to Winter Sonata actually be anime, and not this… Watch it? No and no.. actually really NO!

Yoku Wakaru Gendai Mahou
Kairu: I gotta admit, the character is cute. But the storyline.. I dont know if its good or not. Its about a small girl which is mistaken to be a grade schooler cause shes.. small. Nothing interesting but heck Ill give it a try for fuck’s sake. Watch it? Maybe.
Animemiz: Premises of the anime doesn’t seem that intereting. Looks like a harem, and with the magic element, similar series to Negima? Watch it? Pass!
Krigo: Pretty shitty plot- probably won’t be watching this. Watch it? Nope

Kairu: What? A sea story!? Hell no. But the pictures are interesting.

Kairu: According to MAL, this is a yuri anime. So its kinda interesting. This follows the daily life of the main character which kinda feels like a slice-of-life anime I guess? Watch it? Maybe.

Not many of those really caught my attention as I read through it. Only Yoku Wakaru Gendai Mahou and Seitokai no Ichizon sound interesting and the characters look cute. I like the sound of the parodies!

Summer List is not that much interesting but irony gets in and I actually have 9 or so animes I want to try.

Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 is probably the only must-watch, other than Spice & Wolf 2, for me. In fact I am watching S&W2 as a continuation, while for the new series, it seems as thought TM8 has only caught my attention. I will take a closer look when we are nearer the summer season.

Umineko technically is a sequel to Higurashi. It’s a whole new cast and a whole new mystery in a while new setting, but there are still some familiar faces and concepts that you’ll recognize from Higurashi.
I doubt it’d hurt your enjoyment of Umineko if you haven’t watched Higurashi, but it will spoil one or two of Higurashi’s secrets if you watch Umineko before Higurashi.
Umineko is not a sequel of Higurashi I guess. Its like a spin off according to MAL.

The Higurashi/Umineko relationship in a nutshell. (A big nutshell, but that’s all that can be done.)

Umineko is the third part of the “no Naku Koro ni (when they cry)” series.
The first of the series is Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. (First season “Question” arcs.)
The second is Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai. (Second Season “Answer” arcs.)
Higurashi (When Cicadas Cry) takes place in Hinamizawa, so these parts of the series (Higurashi, Higurashi Kai) are subtitled “Welcome to Hinamizawa”
Umineko no Naku Koro ni- third in the series, “Question Arcs”
It is assumed that there will be a fourth season, Umineko “Answer Arcs”
“Arcs” or “Chapters are small groups of episodes that correspond with each other, before moving to a different story/situation involving the same characters. Question arcs raise a question, and usually end badly. Answer arcs reveal the answer to a specific question arc and has the possibility of a good ending.
They are made by the same person and aren’t a spin off. They have no characters that appear in both series, but still relate to each other. To fully understand Umineko one should watch Higurashi. It isn’t required, since Higurashi information isn’t entirely relevant to Umineko, but some references may be confusing without research. The full experiance of Umineko may be dampened, is what I mean to say. You’ll still get a lot out of it though.
