Say what? Oh just read this post, now!
I always bloghop. I just wonder of those fabulous blog titles, how did they come up with that title? If you ask the one who is the owner of the blog with the fabulous title, they will answer ‘Oh thats just a random blog title. I just came up with that randomly’. I agree. Well yeah me too. If you ask me where did I get my blog title, I would say the same. Because its true.
Blog titles have an effect for your readers. The catchier the blog title you have, the more the ‘curious’ readers you will get, Oh I mean the more the readers you get. Well I dont know, its kind of true for me. Bloggers add creativity on their blog titles, they add numbers, hell of a crap of special characters, name-then-apostrophe S anime blog, random japanese phrases or words, japanese characters and some random shit.
If you read the six tips on how to make your blog popular, NO.7 tip would be: “Have a nice and creative blog title”
Here are some of my ‘meanings’ or ‘understandings’ on some blogs I know that I cant help but post the links of their blogs on this post; Lets start on my blogroll: (Dont be angry on some of my crappy explanations please.)
- Anime 2 – Actually the 2 is an exponent. I think this blog title means.. nothing. Anime + exponent 2 = Anime Anime?
- Anime Chatter – Chatter means someone who chats. Adding the word ‘Anime’ before the word chatter, then it means a person who chats about anime. OH HAHA LOL noobish meaning. Well its true for me!!
- Anime|Otaku – Whats mysterious on this blog title is the ‘|’ thing. Something to make the title unique I guess.
- Are are ~ ara ara – This is the best anime blog title for me among the ones mentioned above. (but I dont say that I hate the titles mentioned above lol) . The title is kinda different in a way. I feel like the author is speaking that gibberish to the readers and the reader is like “what?” Correct.
- Baka-Raptor – Baka means stupid/idiot in Japanese. Raptor is some sort of a dinousaur? Right? So.. Idiot Dinosaur?
- Calamitous Intent – Another favorite of mine. I think I heard somewhere that this title came from a tv show? I wouldnt say that it is ‘un’creative for stealing a name from a tv show, but this title is just great.
- Cartoon Leap – Leap; jump? or maybe travel if you give a meaning deeply. So.. You travel about cartoons. Sounds plausible. But wait, is there a ‘cartoon’ word in the title? What about ‘Anime’ Leap?
- Chirping Crickets – Random title? I guess not. SRSLY, when I view that site, I really hear those crickets, chirping. LOL. Going to my meaning for this title, when you hear a chirping crickets in real life, its like midnight and theres no people around. Its dark, scary, moody and yeah youre kind of alone in a place. Just like in tv shows. So if you compare it to the blog, then that means the author is alone? WHAT?
- Fallen Aizen – Correct me if Im mistaken, the author name is Aizen? Then fallen, then Aizen. Oh I see.
- hikikomori-chan – Hikikomori (refer to this. I cant define and exlplain it myself for this word for now.) -chan is a honorific most commonly for girls. So the author is a girl, then she is a hikikomori? OH.
- Kazenomise – Another favorite. Its kind of mysterious seriously. I cant even explain it.
- Metanorn – Oops. I forgot the [::] Well whatever. This title is another favorite of mine. When I first saw the title, meta then norn? what? Meta is uhh the one you see with the blog’s rss feed, comment feed blah blah right? Soo.. uuhh whatever.
- Open Your Mind – I just lol on this title. We ‘always’ open our mind. So if we didnt, then we wouldnt understand the blog?
- Temporal Vortex – Another favorite. I cant explain it. Thats why its onw of my favorites lol.
- The Death Seeker – The one who seeks death? O_O
- The Disjointed Zone – A not jointed zone? Then thats a turn off for the blog right? It should be The Jointed Zone. (lol dont follow my advice please)
- Yukan Blog – I searched for the meaning of yukan. (I cant help it ahaha) And what I got is Yukon, a popular baby name. OH WTF
- Zone Otaku – Should it be Otaku Zone? Or am I just missing the point? Or am I just stupid? Or I just want that blog to be featured on this post? Or I just want this post to be longer?
And some other blogs that didnt include Yoroshiku on their blogrolls:
- Basugasubakuhatsu – A blog title that will make your tounge twist. A tounge twister? Yes it is. Its a tounge twister meaning Bus gas explosion as heard in Azumanga Daioh.
- Riuva – Another favorite. No need to explain. Riuva is actually an acronym.
- Ramblings of Dark Mirage – The dark mirage is the author? Then about his ramblings? EHH??
- Anime Desho Desho? – Wait.. This is some anime OP song right? Bouken Desho Desho? No waiiii!
- THAT Anime Blog – Dont tell me that the word ‘That’ is an acronym? Then if it is then I would freak out.
- Miao on My Mind – Is Miao a name? I see some various meanings. So if it is a name, then the author’s mind is full of memories of Miao?
- Omonomono – Its a phrase for someone who is eating right? Oh wait that OM NOM NOM, the blog title is OMONOMONO. Oh shi-! I failed.
Thats it for now. I think I shared too much of my shitty descriptions on some anime blogs. Ill stop now since maybe there will be a fight and angry mob because of those descriptions. I gotta go! /ruuuuuunss

Coming up with a blog title is the first step in creating a blog, and usually one of the hardest (not really) for some people.
Since the type of posts may change, but the blog title remains the same, as long as you don’t change it that is..xD
As for my blog, The Banzai! Effect.
I don’t know..my ‘master’ seems to like the word ‘Banzai!’ so much..
His previous blog is named ‘Anime Banzai!’ xD
actually, the basis of the title of my blog would be kiri komori from sayonara zetsubou sensei which was my favorite show when i started blogging. i placed in the honorific “-chan” because i wanted to be distinctive from other people who are already using “hikikomori” in their own blog, both alive or dead.
and no, i have a very active social life and am not a hikikomori – though i am more of a homebody rather than a social butterfly.
Seriously I’ve been thinking of changing my blog’s title and such. Just never found a decent name that I liked. Even though changing it’s name and URL will cause a bunch of problems… well, let’s just say that it won’t be as bad as I think.
Where’d I get the current name? I liked Bleach. Including Aizen (though I’m thinking of changing my name, yet again). I liked Evangelion’s song “Cruel Angel Thesis” and the key word “Angel”. I later read/heard that Fallen Angels = Angels that have lost their wings/became devils. Well, Aizen looked like a nice, angelic fellow but he was really evil… sooo…. yea, you can guess the rest
I am so glad you don’t get my blog title. It’s proof that you’re not 100% corrupted.
Some titles that I have a clue (or maybe not?)
Open Your Mind — it MIGHT be referring to the OP sequence of Ah!MyGoddess?
Chirping Crickets — Well, What enters my mind is Higurashi no Naku Koro ni.
Yukan Blog! – You-”can” blog (I think this is posted on the Yukan Blog! itself by blissmo.
Temporal Votex — (came from Chrono Cross)
Kazenomise – _____ of wind. lol
Metanorn – well, I know where kanzeon came but not the title lol.
Basugasubakuhatsu – I actually considered this as my supposedly blog title but — oh well, someone already got it XD.
I don’t have a clue with regards to Calamitous Intent XD.
I also base my bloghoping with the names ahehe so I guess it really is a factor for attracting visitors. But it is not the sole basis since what really matters is the content (which my blog lacks XD)
@Setsukyie: Well for me making up with a blog title is the hardest. I remember when I started this blog, my problems on my blog title are 1) What if there is already blog with a name like this? 2) What if it sucks?
@biankita: Yeah. We are kinda the same. I wouldnt really a so-called hikikomori but in some way I am. But heck I dont know.
I was thinking of a hikikomori blog title for me also. Something like hikikomori blog? Oh wow sucks right? Good think I knew that there exist a blog like yours
@Aizen: Yes. There will be big problems. I was planning on changing my URL but cant since its impossible. I was planning on changing my blog title. But no, there will be side effects.
You have a nice history on your blog title.
@lolikitsune: Uhhhh.. Yeah?
@foomafoo: You have better personal meanings than mine. ;_;
I don’t think anyone knows where Metanorn comes from. Just be glad you didn’t see the blog title when it MixEd LoWEr And UpPer CaSe LetTers.
Anime Chatter is my blog’s name becaues I’m crappy with names. I was going to name it SWORD OF RUIN but that made no sense so *shrug*.
@omisyth: I came by on Metanorn’s about page last week. And I saw that kanzeon got the name randomly. But when I visited now, the content was gone. O_O Oh yeah, I saw Metanorn on its StiCkY CaPs form. And it was horrible. Did you know that stIckY cApS annoy me?
Dont worry, im crappier with names than you. What? Sword of Ruin? Oh wow.
You missed the most famous one of them all… Random Curiosity.
How did you come up with your blog title anyway?
@ omisyth
SWORD OF RUIN evokes old-school Final Fantasy imagery. Not a bad thing.
I agree with the statement that the hardest step to starting a blog is picking a name for it. I struggled with mine for days. I was supposed to name my blog after an anisong that I loved, but I supposed “Happily Ever After” gives the idea of sunny sweet romances.
So I used the next best thing instead, the song from the 1st Gurren Lagann movie.

Break down omonomono –> omo no mono –> “Omo’s thing(s)”. I think that’s how he intends it.
But I do wonder how some people do decide on what to name their blogs. In my case, it was as spur of the moment as making the blog itself. I didn’t want to think about the name for a while, and I was on a S-Cry-ed kick at the time, liking the ending song “Drastic My Soul” (especially it’s ending Engrish, “I believe in Drastic My Soul!”). So I figured, “Why not?”.
@Epi: Yeah. I was about to type Random Curiosity but its too self explanatory.
Nice question! Finally. Actually its a ‘random’ name. XD Cause I see a lot of anime blog titles with japanese phrases in it. And I thought of a common japanese phrase. I thought a lot of titles, like Arigatou, Ikimashou, Wakaranai, Suki Desu, Doushite? But I came up with Yoroshiku
@schneider: I didnt really struggled for days on making my blog title. Maybe an hour or so
@TheBigN: Oh wow. Omo no Mono! I get it!
Yeah. I love your blog title! Sooo unique.
Yes, the Deathseeker is the one who seeks death. Wait what you never read the profile part of my blog. DUN DUN DUN
Also Anime to the exponent of 2 is Anime Squared. Simple math!
@Panther: LOL I suck at lurking.
I know its Anime Squared. So if it is squared, it will be doubled. = Anime Anime
Foomafoo got it right! I decided on my blog name because at the time I was making it, the OP for Ah! My Goddess started playing! There’s a better reason on my About Page…which needs a little updating. >_>
FUSHIGI MYSTERY.
Nah, it’s too simple to comprehend, lol… Actually mine started of as only a catalog for my idol collection that I sold off, Mise as in Shop… lol So… Kaze no Mise, you get the idea… xD
Will think about a story to make it interesting later…. HAHA
If it’s not jointed, then I sure many ppl would wanna jump in and find out why or may not. lol
Well, the title is to represent my love for figmas in a strange or funny way.
Wait, u didn’t know I was a figma otaku, well now u do.
@53RG10: I didnt really watched Ah! My Goddess. But I think I will.
@kazearashi: Oh I get it. Haha Oh wow
@optic: Wow, I never thought of it that way. So figmas eh? Oh wow.
Dude, Anime² means anime x anime. There are shitty animes, so you can’t be sure you mean good ones if you say just “anime”. xD

N’s got it.
Bonus points as to where I copied that idea from.

@Gargron: Oh I see. Dammit math time. Oh shit.
@omo: Np bonus point for me? Awww
Me: You’ll pick an adjective. I’ll pick a noun. We’ll combine them to form the title to this blog.
My roommate: Baka
Me: Raptor
@Baka-Raptor: Oh I see. You should thank your roommate. Or wait.. Did you do it the other way around? Oh wait.. what?
‘deculture’ was actually the name of the band my family and I decided on when Rockband first came out. That was of course inspired by Macross Frontier since the first episode aired in December ‘07.
For my blog the name holds more meaning then simply an inspirational phrase from Macross. My silly thought process was that we blog about games, anime and trance. Entertainment which is wide spread, yet has a very niche appeal in the broader market. So we’re like….deculturising people!
The variation in deculture came cos deculture.com domain and deculture on wordpress was already taken :p
@th: Lol wow a rockband! Macross aired in Dec 7? Oh wow thats my birthday
Yes, the first episode aired on 24th December last year. Or the year before last as is the case now. Damn! A whole year has passed already?!

And this is why About Pages existChirping Crickets make you think of a dark, scary atmosphere? Hmmm..I wonder what kind of TV shows you watching
. Yes, I am alone in the blog…which makes the site a failure, since it’s supposed to be me and a band of bozos.
But I’ll tell you what it means…Chirping Crickets is what you hear to represent comical silence as in….
Kairu Ishimaru: Why did the chicken cross the road?
7: I don’t know.
Kairu Ishimaru: To get to the other side!
*crickets chirping*
As in…nobody gets it but it’s funny because, well…nobody gets the joke.
Don’t worry…CC will be history when I transfer to self-host WP.
@7: I knew you were going to say that. haha. Its supposed to be longer as hell. But I was too lazy that time.
I dont really lurk for about pages on a site. ;_;
Yeah. I get the point. I watch too much television and scenarios like that always happen.
Lol actually, the [::] thing was just supposed to be a design, but it was too late, since the blogrolls that added me already put in the [::]’s and voila haha…
And the -norn… Hmm… I don’t know too XD… Really. I was like Meta…meta…meta…norn? Then I thought it sounded cool so I used it XD…
…Or does it sound lame? TELL ME >.<!!!!!!
@kanzeon: I really do like the norn thingey. So catchy. haha
