Special A Review: Not bad for a shoujo anime

I bought a random anime DVD and I got this anime. Im really not into shoujo-romance animes though. Actually this is the 2nd time for me to watch a shoujo-romance. Well whatever, Ill watch it for the lulz.

Hikari Hanazono

Hikari is an average, strong, intelligent girl who is willing to beat Takishima Kei. Hikari is a very energetic and a happy-go-lucky girl which makes her a bit weird in some way. She can be dense too and cant understand well the feelings of others. Hikari is a very friendly person too. She loves her friends and never wants to leave them behind.

Kei Takishima

Kei is the reason why Hikari enrolled to a school where he was. He always beats Hikari no matter what and always ranks top 1. Kei was inloved with Hikari and tries all sort of stuffs for him to be loved by Hikari. But too bad Hikari doesnt notice it since she looks at Kei as her rival forever.

Review:

This was a good shoujo-romance anime. But not just the genre romance is being served on this anime, comedy is too. The comedy scenes are not that bad and will sometimes crack you up. The story is not that good though. Some episodes are just too random and hasnt have a connection to the main story. The characters have pretty unique characteristics. Not those typical anime characters you will see in a certain series. For example Megumi which is one of the S-A members, she doesnt barely speak. That just unique eh? Going back to the story, there are some romantic scenes which failed on giving the fangirls what they want. And failed on some episodes which is just too boring that you want to skip them. In other words, the story is about the interaction of a girl on a certain guy and some interaction on their friends. Overall, this is a not bad shoujo anime that is worth to watch. Just enjoy laughing on some humorous scenes that you will surely like.

I’m not a big fan for shoujo anime, but I really love Special A… =D 9/10 Hikari is really funny… ^^;;

For autumn one, my shoujo anime is Skip Beat, which I find it really interesting… xD

compared to the manga, the show was a fail. but just as an anime alone, it was ok.

to me anyway, the comedy was a fail and the romance parts did not make me hug my pillow. but what annoyed me about it is that the characters were not well-developed. tadashi was the only character who made the show worth it for me and the episode of him and akira was a win.

@biankita: Yeah. What I love on S-A was the not-too-much romance in it. But still a failure for fangirls.

The manga of this series has been on my wishlist for some time now. Maybe I’ll try the anime instead. Thanks, don’t see to many posts about shoujo anime.

I am still at episode 6 and I guess I will drop it…..I didn’t find it much funny. It is one of my sister’s favorites, I wonder how. I guess it is taste after all.

lol, aren’t you glad you tried it. haha. It’s a well done for me as well. Both the manga and the anime are great. To me, the drawing is pretty much equal. I don’t see the difference that well for this one.
